Hello SAME members and Friends.

Since many of our members are participating in or are in Solidarity with "Occupy San Diego", we will hold a "Teach-in" at "Occupy San Diego's" area at Civic Center Plaza(1200 Third Ave, San Diego, CA) at 6pm.Lets take steps to figure out how the LGBT and greater justice movement can thrive together.

We will discuss the following topics, and we encourage all at Occupy SD to join us in the discussion.

1. Civil Disobedience and Defending the "Equality 9."

2. LGBT struggle for jobs, fair housing, and equal rights.

3. Close with announcements

We meet at 4th ave and Walnut st in the Hillcrest area of San Diego.
Meeting will begin promptly at 6:30pm and end at 8:30pm. Here is the Agenda:

1. Introductions and Question: Has the D.A.D.T repeal affected you personally? 

2. Final details/planning for the "Equality 9" Rally/Signature petition presentation to the City Attorney on Sept 28th.  

3. Discussion/preparation for the "Equality 9" court date on Monday,October 17th.

4. Update/discussion on the Video Project to protect the "FAIR Education Act"(SB48)

5. Discuss SAME's participation at North County's "Pride @ the Beach!" (staffing, materials...)

6. Endorsements/Announcements.

7. Sign-making, chants, songs, signature-box, and other hands-on activities for Wed's signature rally.

Sat, Sept 17 ·  12:00pm -  3:00pm at the corner of 6th St and University Ave, Hillcrest, San Diego.

 Come join us in our blitz to collect signatures for the Equality 9 petition on the friendly streets of Hillcrest! As some of you may already know, we plan to deliver those petitions to the City Attorney on September 28; let's make sure he hears from as many people in the community as possible! Wear comfortable shoes, bring water, and be ready to talk to folks.
